About the DVD As part of the Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Mahotsava, this symposium will be focusing upon Indian thought and Sri Ramanuja's contribution to India's worldview. Themes and topics for various sessions are identified to explore this idea. One of the important endeavours is to engage with the modern world and thought and make an assessment of it from the Indian perspective. Hence, some frontier areas for today's relevance are being pursued in a preliminary fashion to begin with. The desire is to continue the discussion on the chosen important themes from a long-term perspective and identify a community of scholars for the task. Few questions for discussions are:

Who is Sri Ramanuja? What makes him important and secures him a permanent place in the philosophical, religious, and social history of India?

In what manner is he relevant today, in the contemporary world? Is there anything in his thought that can guide us for the next thousand years and beyond?
