Torchbearer of the Imdad Khan Gharana Ustad Shujaat Khan is the Seventh in the unbroken line from his family that has produced many musical masters and is among the leading Sitarists of the day. He is the great grandson of Ustad Imdad Khan, grandson of Ustad Khan and son and disciple of the legendary maestro Ustad Vilayat Khan each a leading artiste of his own generation

Ustad Shujaat Khan has developed his own unique style of playing Indian classical music. His approach to rhythm is largely intuitive fresh and spontaneous always astonishing his audience. He is also know for his unique voice which he uses for singing folk songs and poetry. He has performed at all the prestigious music festivals in India and around the world.
