The painting you see on this page is an abstract amalgam of symbols. Each of them are integral to Indian art and iconography, with unique transcendental meaning. Seemingly tattooed on a pair of gentle, feminine palms dyed green, the vermillion and black colour-blocked background adds to the auspiciousness of the unusually treated theme. Zoom in on the palms to appreciate the sheer level of detailing that has gone into each of the emblems.

A pristine conch occupies the left bottom corner of the left palm. Two different kinds of yantra are to be found in the same row; a golden phurpa, a cross of vajra, and a lotus petal in the same palm. On the other are the eyes of the Buddha, a dot of the sacred vermillion, and a rosary. A decorated kalash, a coconut barely pried open, and a blue-coloured bell are all integral temple elements, in addition to which there is a dharmachakra knot in the same palm. Note the deep crimson flower that has been painted on both palms, a dual symbol of life and beauty.
