"The rivers look so exquisite, as they rush to meet the ocean
The vines mesmerize the eye wrapped around young trees beautifully

The lightning flashes rivetingly as she plays with rolling clouds.

With their strong cries, the peacocks announce the meeting of earth and heaven.

All lovers unite in this month of Shravana, why leave me then, my love?"

Inspired by the Baramasa poetry in the works of Keshvadas, this watercolor painting presents the month of Saawan, when the Nayika urges and taunts the Nayaka, for thinking of leaving her in the months of union. In a backdrop of exquisite dark clouds, marble buildings, green hilltops, and flowing streams, Krishna and Radha as the quintessential Nayaka-Nayika are dressed in traditional attire, with Radha pointing to the sky and urging Krishna to remain in her proximity. Framed by ornate foliage, this painting is a vision of the celebration of romance in nature.
