Radha & Krishna, the timeless lovers, stand in the middle of the composition, looking at each other, oblivious to the multitude of gopis on either side. Krishna, with his blue body would stand out in millions. Dressed in a fancy attire and attractive ornaments, he plays the flute to mesmerize Radha and the gopis, nay, even the cows that sit on far end of the painting and look so. Confident and beautiful in love, Radha is seen in all her finery, holding a water pot in the crook of her arm.

The gopis around them are in an ecstatic mood, some with fans or fly whisk in their hands. Since this art style has specifications regarding features and bodies, so the artist asserts his creativity by experimenting with colours and patterns on the clothes of the gopis. He maintains a compositional balance through the number of gopis on either sides and the lotus ponds at the lower corners. The red background illuminates the already colourful painting.

Vibrant colours intricately woven with the folk element account for the enduring popularity of pata chitras.
