4" Small South Indian Goddess Durga Copper Statue | Handmade

$75

“Dakshina-Durga” (Durga of South India), also known as Mariamman, is a powerful mother goddess worshipped in South India, as protectress and bestower of supreme fruits. In this small copper statue, goddess Mariamman has been beautifully depicted, sitting on a lotus throne, in a Chaturbhuja or four-armed form. She wears an elongated crown, fine jewelry, and dhoti, and carries a damru (drum), sword, skull cup, and Trishul or trident. Crafted meticulously, the icon of Mariamman is an example of the finesse of the artist, who has captured the potent aura of the goddess in the murti.
