Goddess Saraswati here struts a veena, long enough to match her own lithe form. As the Goddess of Music, she is particularly sacred to those who sing or play instruments. In India, her auspicious image can be found in the homes of all practitioners of music regardless of their religion. Here the sculptor has lovingly modeled the goddess with accentuated feminity, and even though the composition puts stress on curvaceousness, the goddess stands taut on an oval lotus pedestal. The high crown not only enhances the tall stature of Goddess Saraswati, it also reinforces her primary status in the Hindu pantheon.

The vehicle of Goddess Saraswati is the swan, which is signified here in the veena, whose top ends up as the head of a swan. This is a particularly animate composition, and the fingers of the Goddess realistically rest on the strings of the instrument as if in concert for a live, divine audience.

Delivered by to all international destinations within 3 to 5 days, fully insured.
