In this beautiful brass statue, Lord Hanuman is represented standing in Anjali mudra, a posture of offering worship. He wears a traditional dhoti and is adorned with armlets, anklets, heavy necklaces, and earrings. A beautifully designed ornate crown decorates his head. He wears the sacred thread, from his left shoulder, and diagonally across his upper body. His tail curves up around his back, forming a kind of halo around his head. Two pieces of clothes are pleated neatly at both sides of his waist. He is standing on a stepped rectangular pedestal. This mesmerizing piece of art comes from the South Indian tradition of sculptures.
