The toddler Krishna stands holding a butter ball in his right hand, which delights him. He stands erect, his bearing betraying his pride at having managed to steal butter from one of the gopis’ houses. He wears a short dhoti, leaving much of the legs bare making it easier for him to run off if caught while stealing the butter.

Our Krishna here has a well-pointed nose, thick lips and well-arched eyebrows. He stands on a high, double-petalled lotus pedestal, with the bronze patina, embellished with red, giving the entire composition a distinctive flavor.

The sculpture was created in the central Indian city of Aligarh.
