This sari comes from Banaras, the ancient city where Lord Shiva is said to reside when visiting the earth. The body of the sari is in a dark chocolate brown color with small floral butis that are closely woven and make the sari look full. The border of the sari has ornately carved floral patterns reminiscent of the ancient architecture of India. The pallav is fabulous with carved arches and large floral patterns along with well-carved leaves. The sari is accompanied by a blouse, which is similarly woven with small floral butis as on the body of the sari.
A delight both to the wearer and viewer. Ideal for light party wear.
