Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 at Porbandar a small town on the western coast of India. Born in a middle class family his father was the Dewan or Prime Minister of Porbandar. While he was still in high school he was married at the age of thirteen to Kasturbai who was also of the same age.
