Description
About the Book

Holly-wood and Bollywood filmmakers produce films on the basis of short stories and screenplays for which a story/screenplay writer is required to camp there for close coordination in the matter. Being a Government officer it has not been possible for me to go through the drill. That is why my four stories and their screenplays in this book for you to read, enjoy and learn the skills of script writing.

I hope my readers will appreciate my next venture, a novel and encourage me to create better works in future.

About the Author

Nirmal Kumar Chawdhary has been a prolific writer of many short stories and has authored an English novel too. This is his second book. He is Under Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of External Affairs and a rich and varied experience of having served in the India Embassies in Lagos (Nigeria), Copenhagen (Denmark), Moscow (Russia) and Muscat (Oman).

Preface

I had a pleasant experience to go through the stories and the accompanying screenplays, which the author has included in his book to illustrate the skills required for script writing.

With the continued explosion in the number of TV channels in India, the demand for creative multimedia content has increased manifold and this has, inter alia, necessitated large volumes of script writing work.

I hope, the book ‘How to write films screenplays’ would inspire numerous persons and provided to them practical ‘self-help’ guidelines for acquiring the skills required to become successful screenplay writer.

Mr. Nirmal Kumar Chawdhary is my colleague and I congratulate him for his brilliant effort. I wish him grand success for his future endeavours of creative writing.
