Bron into a eminent family from south Indian in 1956. It was apparent from an early age that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was destined to lead a spiritual life. Even as a very young child he was often found absorbed in meditation. At the age of four his parents were surprised to discover him spontaneously reciting the Bhagavad Gita. Later on in school he would tell his friends People are waiting for me all over the world. I am going to visit them one day by the age of seventeen he had completed his traidtional education in both Vedic literature and modern science.
In 1982 Sri Sri Ravi Shankar began to teah the Sudarshan Kriya a powerful breathing technique which elimintes stress and brings oen completely into the present moment. That very samy year Sri Sri Ravi Shankar established the art of living foundation as an educational orgianzation designed to assist all levels of soceity in reaching their full human potential. His educational programs offer innovative tools for managing strees resolving conflict, improving health and living life with more joy and enthusiasm.
In 1986 he was presented with the title Yoga Shiromani from the president of India. He is aslo the only non westerner so far to serve on the advisory board of yale university’s School of divnity. In 1995 Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was a speaker during the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the United Nations. Today he is considered one of India’s most important spiritual figures leading what is considered as a varitable spiritual revolution built around the prinicples of love and bliss.
Founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 1982 as an educational organization designed to assiste all levels of society in reaching their full human potential. The art of living foundation is today a vast international body with scores of centres in over dozens of countries. It is also a Non-Governmental orgaization (NGO) in speical consultative status with the United Nations.
The foundation conducts the internationally acclaimed Art of Living course through a multitude of volunteer teachers. The course offres powerful techniques such as the Sudarshan Kriya to remove stress, enhance our development and resotre harmony to our whole being. Through the Sudarshan Kriya it is said one feels renewed physically and emotionally experiencing his or her innermost self which is infinite.

You can experience an emotion but it is totally impossible to desribe it. But sitting close to the Master that is Upanishad you catch on many things. You catch on the inecpressible you catch on something that is indescribable. Here words are simply a vehicle but in between the words a lot of flow is there. There energy moves joy moves and that transforms the life.
