This pure silk saree bright pink in color has a beige pattern on the field. Nature serves as the primary source of design here, with the floral form called buti. These butis, beige in color are repeated at a distance all over the surface. The border has a dense geometric weave followed by a horizontal creeping vine in brown and beige. The pallav or the endpiece is also in these two subtle colors in floral motifs used in unique patterns. A circular effect is given to each plant motif complete with flowers, leaves and stems. These are repeated in four bands interspersed with the floral creeping vines. Since the design is simple, the basic subtleties of color and texture are emphasized, in preference to ornament.
The material of the saree is light enough not to interfere with the fluidity of the drape. The unstitched blouse is bright pink with the band of creepers, oft repeated on the border and the pallav. The weaver has cleverly contrasted a bright with a somber color, making it sophisticated enough to be worn on any occasion, during the daytime or as evening wear.
