The lucknawi Chikans are the spice and flavor of the rich Awadhi and Nawabi traditions of Lucknow. These are delicate embroidery work done on crisp cottons with white threads. The color schemes of the Lucknawi Chikans are a soothing palate of pastels that add elegance and grace to the woman. The embroidery work known as the 'shadow work' is usually stitched in the Nawabi motifs.

The body of the sari, in a peach shade, is stitched in diagonally, in a series of 'mango leaf' and floral pattern that is traditionally found on the Nawabi Kurtas. The diagonal stitch gives fullness to the sari and the pattern is accentuated once it is worn. The border is done on both sides of the sari and is a long floral pattern.

The Pallav is quite rich and complements the body perfectly. The border is stitched in a semi-circle pattern that is different from the usual square form of the Pallavs. The floral, mango leaf and the creeper pattern are wonderfully enmeshed in the semi-circle of the Pallav. The Pallav is a visual treat.

This sari is a neighbor's envy and owner's pride.
