Book Description
About The Book

Kashmiri Pandies have a five thousand-year old history which is horrible, horrific and horrendous but those people are wonderful, in the sense that they have maintained themselves in body and soul. have preserved their cultural identity to a large extent and mostly guarded their rituals and customs. This book highlights the atrocities inflicted on Kashmiri Pandits, the original inhabitants of the valley. No drama can rival the grandeur of their sufferings of the last seven centuries. The muss exodus of 1990 has left Kashmiri Pandits refugees in their own country for the last 30 years.

Kashmiri Pandits were mobbed by the people and cheated by those at the helm. They bore the brunt of maledictions, physical abuses, mental tortures and vulgar nicknames. This book is a first-hand narration of the atrocities hurled on them. The horrendous BARKS of vulgarities that were cast on them. These BARKS inevitably transformed into fatal BITES.

Kashmiri Pandits were at the receiving end of the barking of frightful and dreadful slogans from the mosque tops day in and day out from December 1989 onwards. One can gauge the height of indecency and incivility in the sensual and seductive slogare "Asi Gachi Pakistan, Bhato Warie Bhatneau Saan" (We want Pakistan with Pandicanis (Kashmiri Pandit women), without Pandits (Kashmiri Pandit men).

This book analyses a variety of BARKS vomited at high pitch by believers of the faith from their mosque tops Their mindset is manifest in these slogans, the mindset that on all accounts is morally blighted and deadly against non-Muslims in the valley, against the country which has been nourishing and nurturing them with silver spoon for the last 70 years.

The lethal BITES inflicted on the members of Kashmiri Pandit community for the last seven centuries have been presented in chronological order. The atrocities and mayhem faced by Kashmiri Pandits in the hands of local and cruel leaders has been illustrated in this book.

The book portrays briefly the rituals and customs of Kashmiri Pandits. The greatness of our sacred language Sanskrit is duly stressed. The sacred geography of Kashmiris briefly described. The miserable plight of Kashmiri Pandits in exile for the last 30 years has been highlighted.

This book is intended for anyone who is curious to know the plight of Kashmiri Pandits who have been living as refugees in their own country for the last 30 years. I do not write this for Kashmiri Pandits alone, but for all those who have a real urge to apprise themselves of this peace-loving community, that wanted nothing other than safety and security in the valley.

Kashmiri Pandits have suffered and have been suffering for the last seven centuries. The mass exodus of 1970 was not out of our own volition. Who would like to leave his home and hearth? The cut from the valley was forced upon us.

The three large massacres of Kashmiri Pandits from 1990 onwards have been described in this book. My entire Nanihal was wiped out from the surface of this earth in the Sangrampora Massacre. Nothing in the name of Nanihal exists for me now.

The life and teachings of three great Kashmiri Pandit female saints and sages Lalleshwari, Rupa Bhawani and Arnimal have been highlighted in this book for the enlightenment of eager readers.

Preface

The mass exodus of 1990 has made them refugees in their own country for the past 30 years.

Kashmiri Pandits were mobbed by the people and cheated by those at the helm. They have borne the brunt of malediction, physical abuse, mental torture and vulgar nicknames.
