Book Description
Preface
It is a fact that the wealth of India was the wonder and envy to other nations of the World. The natural habitat of India, temperate climate resulting in reduction of human wants and abstemious habits of the people resulted in the increase in natural income of India throughout the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

The frequent civil disputes among the princes and the nobles, rebellions against the government was the another cause of insecurity among the people which had serious consequences on the stability and economy of India. There was no foresightedness left among the and leaders. There was no ruler and leader left in the true sense to take forward the new philosophy of life. The throne was left with full of puppets. The frequent civil conflicts spread a sense of insecurity among the masses. The peasants withheld the land revenue. As a result, the government seized and anarchy commenced.

Unfortunately, the wealth was not used for progressive purpose, such as, development of education, agriculture etc. It was mostly used for efficient national defence. Thus, the wealth only made rulers weak and fatal and tempted the foreign invaders.

Sher Shah once said, "Indians should be made friends as they are useful, when we need them". Humayun made India his house and died in India. Akbar represented these views. Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb married Hindu ladies. If from parental side they were the decendants of Taimur, then from maternal side, they were the children of descent Rajputs.

The decline of the Mughal Empire was mainly due to the inefficiency of the later Mughals to select right Nobles and Wazirs, get work done and develop their talent.

Introduction
The Mughals arrived in India during the sixteenth century, established their rule and became the rulers of India for about three hundred and fifty years.

With the arrival of the Mughals, they mingled with the Indian society and brought a change in the then existing culture. Thus, a new culture was introduced which is known as 'Mughalai Culture'.

The Mughal era witnessed a glorious achievement of the kings and the princess in socio-economic and cultural fields, even-though most of their time was spent in establishing the rule in India and infighting among themselves to achieve and establish their supremacy.

Taimur suddenly came to India and looted. However, his later generation was weak and had not played any important role which is worth mentioning.

Babar's narrative about India is in detail and he covered many aspects of Indian society of that period.

Though there were differences between the Mughal Princes and brothers but there was a lot of affection and love between the brothers and the sisters. Babar held his sister Khanzada Begum in high esteem. Similarly, Humayun loved her sister Gul Badan Begum very much and had lot of respect for her. Eventhough, she was not his real sister. Similarly, other Kings also had respect for the sisters born from different mothers.
