Hanuman is known by many names as Prasannanjenaya, Veeranjaney, Dhananjaneya, Bhaktanjaneya and so on. Each name signifying his power. It is said that hanuman does not remember his true powers unless someone reminds him of them. Hence, Chanting thousand epithets of Hanuman is reminding the thousand powers of Hanuman and thereby invoking his favors and blessings.
