A Bharatnatyam dancer assumes a graceful mudra of the hands. The ends of Her fingers dipped in crushed vermillion liquid, nails painted a solid white colour. The tips of the thumb and forefinger of each hand are brought together near the face. On Her face, a subtle yet unmistakable smile.
Luxuriantly made up eyes, beneath a thickly drawn brow. White diamond shringar to match the pristine flowers holding Her bun in place. A short-sleeved blouse in blue velvet teamed with a crimson silk saree, with gold brocade finish. An unusual gold matte complexion; the gold bangles on Her wrists almost blending into it away from view.
This portrait of the Bharatnatyam dancer would be a fine addition to the traditional Indian home.
