Ustad Rashid Khan
Rampur Sahaswan Gharana’s most prolific and popular vocalist Ustad Rashid Khan is currently the most sought after singer on the classical music stage. His steady powerful voice and astonishing lung power have enthroned him in the hearts of even the casual listeners of classical music. He has been credited with formulating his own style slow elaboration in vilambit khayals with expertise in the use of sargams sargam taankari and emphasis on emotional overtones in his renditions. It has brought a touch of spontaneity and modernity to his style and made Hindustani classical music easily intelligible and hence closer to the masses.

Ustad Rashid Khan was born on 1st July 1966 in Badayun Uttar Pradesh he belongs to the family of the great Ustad Inayat Hussain Khan who is recognized as the pioneer of the Rampur Sahaswan gaharana.
