The tribal craftsman has used his own ingenuity in creating this piece. He has placed Lord Ganesha and mother Parvati on lotus seats; Ganesha proportionally smaller. He is striding towards his mother, carrying a bow and an arrow. His crown and the prabhavali behind it are aptly designed. Attention has been paid to minute details like his jewellery, the yajnopavita, the Shaivite tilak on his forehead, amongst other things. Ganesha gently taps his mother on the shoulder, wanting her to listen to his accomplishments. The simple craftsman has dressed up Parvati in their own traditional attire. She wears a crown and some simple jewellery. Balanced on her thigh, steadied by her right hand is an urn of water, which actually does not symbolize anything, but is added for aesthetic value.
The lotus seat of Parvati forms the base of this sculpture, with long stems emerging from either side. The sculpture has the texture of the ribbed wax and its original clay core.
