The present work 'Glimpses of Tantric Studios' is an anthology of eighteen articles covering the various aspects of Tantra, Mantra, Yantra and occult Sciences. The studies embeded hore in this treatise are cast over the origin, development and tradition of the Tantric Cult; its rituals and practices. Tantra, being the cult of the fominine, embraces worships, rites and practices. related to the Mother Goddesses.
Any Sakta-pitha is the abode. of its prosiding Sakti, the female deity. In this respect, the present work includes studies on the Tantra-Pitha Uddiyana, the Sakta-Pithas of Indian and their rich Cultural traditions. The worship of the Sapta-Matrkas, the science of Tantra and Yantra are the other significant components of this work. Vodic tantrism, Upanisadic liberation and the very concept of creation have been treated here in a more concrete and coherent manner, coherence between the cult and the subject. Discussions on Tantric Yoga, Gayatri Mantra, Sri Gere and the mode of worship at Mx goddess Mahaked brightly into the notion cn Tantra and its practices. Other components of this study includes Tantric Buddhism, Tantric path followed by the Tibetans and the Tantric devotees of Assam. On the whole, the range of studies included here in this volume is widely expended over diverse fields of Tantra and its practices.
About the Author
Bidyut Lata Ray, born 1947 studied in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, obtained M. A. (Sanskrit, Oriya, Hindi) and Ph.D. in Sanskrit from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. She has been researching on Sanskrit and teaching the subject for over three decades. She has contributed a number of research papers and articles on Jagannatha Cult, Vedic and Puranic studies to reputed journals, periodicals and felicitation volumes and published monographs on the subject. She is associated with many research institutes and organisations of India and abroad. She has been conferred with an honorary appointment to the Professional Women's Advisory Board and to the Research Board of Advisors of the American Biographical Institute, Inc., Raleigh, North Carolina, U.S.A.

The real architects of this volume are our contributors who have tried their best to treat the elements of Tantra in a more substantial manner with diverse outlooks. The studies embeded have in this treatise are cast over the origin, and tradition of the Tantric Cult; its rituals and practices. Tantra, being the cult of the feminine, embraces worship rites and practices related to the Mother-Goddesses. Any Sakta-pitha is wellknown for its presiding Sakti, the female deity. In this respect, our present work includes studies on the Tantra-pitha Uddiyana, the Sukta-pithas of India and the tradition of the Sapta-Matrkas. The science of Tantra and Yantra forms the other significant component of this study.
