Introduction
As defined by the World Health Organisation (WHO), health is a A "state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absense of disease or infirmity". Truly speaking. health is a dynamic condition resulting from a body's constant adjustment and adaptation in response to stresses and changes in the environment for maintaining an inner equilibrium called homeostasis. As per the constitution of the WHO principles, the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinction of race, religion, political belief, economic or social condition. Also the health of all people is fundamental to the attainment of peace and security and is dependent on the fullest cooperation of individuals and states. Hygiene is a set of practices performed to preserve health. According to WHO, "Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases." Personal hygiene refers to maintaining the body's cleanliness. Many people equate hygiene with 'cleanliness', but hygiene is a broad term. It includes such personal habit choices as how frequently to bathe, wash hands, trim fingernails, and change clothing. It also includes attention to keeping surfaces in the home and workplace, including bathroom facilities, clean and pathogen-free. The book in hand-'1000 Health and Hygiene Quiz'-has been written in lucid language to make the younger generation, specially the students of different School Boards, aware of various diseases of body and mind. The book contains useful and important topics like Defense against diseases, Immune system, AIDS, Disorders of nervous system, Psychological disorders, Hormone and vitamin deficiency diseases.
