About the Author

Ruskin Bond, India best-known and most loved writer of children's books was born on 1934 in the Simla Hills. Awarded the Rhys Memorial prize in 1957 for his first novel The Room on the Roof written at the age of 17, he received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1993. His canvas encompasses folktales, short stories, books of nature, poetry, fiction, a historical novel, a biography and autobiographical works.
