I have realized through my experiences of conducting various examinations in art, recitation, dance and music, etc. for 'Sangeet Bharati' for the last 30 years that though there are innumerable books in the market, there is hardly any theoretical book for students in question and answer form on the subject of art and culture. It is, however, indispensable for every student to take the theoretical examination as conducted every year by various institutions like Pracheen Kala Kendra, SuroBharati, Sangeet Kala Kendra, Bangiya SangeetParishad, Prayag Sangeet Samiti, etc.
In this book, I've tried to provide simple and authentic answers of various questions as has been asked in the last 24 years by the Pracheen Kala Kendra in their yearly examinations for preparatory to post graduate (PP1to 7/8th year) degree.
My heartiest wishes to all the students as they set out on their journey to enhance their theoretical and practical knowledge through my book. May the works of renowned artists of the world sharpen your knowledge about the rich heritage of the history and culture of art worldwide.
