Preface
It was one of the astrology seminars held at Vrindaban in September 2002, which inspired me to write something on peaceful living. Many of the speakers expressed their views and thoughts on astrology and other 'divine' subjects, but I felt that they all knew about astrology but most of them were expressing their views under stress, for one reason or the other. This very reflection stimulated me to write on handling the stress. My pilot co-astrologer, Pandit Naresh Chandra, in his speech, emphasised that the astrology community should also be equipped with the knowledge of handling stress to benefit the society. His very idea inspired me to write something on 'Stress and Meditation. It was my subject as I have been doing 'Vipassana Meditation regularly for the last so many years and also knew so many other techniques on meditation. My keen interest to read the books, magazines and articles on occult sciences and related subjects such as William Hart's Art of Living on 'Vipassana Meditation', Dayanand Verma's Dhyan Yog and Dr Deepak Chopra's hand book on human body- Ageless Body and Timeless Mind inspired me in this regard. The globalisation and advancement in the surrounding environment has paved the way for many complicated demands and expectations, which is the major source of stress. A series of research has proved that stress at the workplace is increasing and unable to cope up, which leads to many physical and mental problems. But all stresses are not bad. Some people thrive under stressful conditions whereas some rise to top by managing it. But most of the times stress overpowers the person, which leads to many problems. A decade before it was thought to overcome the stress through the management of stress, but at present it is a part and parcel of our lives and the environment we live in. Most of the time you don't know exactly what is happening inside your body until something goes wrong. Consequently. unchecked ignorance becomes dangerous. For decades, doctors have been warning that stress is the cause of deteriorating health, There are a number of reliable and effective techniques, which can help a person to cope up with stress and manage it effectively. This improves resulting in positive & optimistic thinking, self-confidence, motivation, high morale, self-expression and overall personality development. This book is a practical guide to the human body and mind describing potentials of physical and emotional development and getting success through many techniques. The main aim of this book is to describe how inner conscious influences materialistic body. It guides how one can get a successful, happy and peaceful life keeping oneself away from stress.
