Millions of devotees over several decades have come from all over the world and from the surrounding villages and participated enthusiastically in the night long Bhajan(s) on the auspicious Sivaratri. The appearance of the Siva Linga on the Mahāśivaratri day, and the exuberant devotion shown by the multitudinous followers of Shiva resulted naturally in the lingodbhavam on the holy Mahāśivarātri nights. Bhagawan says that the Linga exists in all humans in the form of Hiranyagarbha.
Bhagawan has given insightful and elevating discourses on these occasions. They are vast in number. In this little compilation, there is an attempt to bring to the readers glimpses of the divine words on various aspects of Lord Shiva, and Mahāśivaratri celebrations, and the teachings for leading a better life, along with a number of moral stories. It is the earnest hope that those who had been fortunate to have witnessed at least one Sivarātri at Prasanthi Nilayam would rejoice and remember those occasions in bliss while reading Bhagawan's words. And for those who were not so fortunate, this will enable a peek into the holy atmosphere during the festival of the auspicious night of Lord Shiva.
