About The DVD

Upasani Baba Maharaj, who is treated as Avatar, established Kanyakumari Sthan at Sakori, Maharashtra, wherefrom female priests came out. The film traces the Goda Mataji, who was first female disciple of Upasani Baba Maharaj. In ancient India in Vedic times we find two names of lady priests namely, Sah Nau Avatu and Sah Nau Vinattu. The “Nau” means couple and that is why in the Vedic rituals couple always perform rituals together. In the religious practices in ancient time Yajman Patni (husband and wife) alongwith priest perform puja. Keeping all this in mind Upasani taught that the power of Dharma lies not only in male but in the females as well, as female denotes “Stree Shakti”. Thus the film documents the history of first women Gurukula established by Upasani Baba Maharaj in the last century and created history itself by defying orthodox practices of male dominations in priesthood. The Gurukula offers training and residence to women who are initiated to Vedic learning and then became Brahmavadinis because “Stree Shakti” is the power house for Indian religious belief system.
