Namasmarana is the Taraka Mantra given by Bhagwan Baba for this age. Under the divine guidance of Swami, millions of devotees across the world have taken the divine path of Bhakthi and Seva. Sai Bhajans have become the ultimate elixir for all the ills of the modern world.
Our Brothers and Sisters of the Brindavan Bhajan Group are fortunate to receive Divine Grace, Blessings and guidance from Swami and had the unique privilege of singing His glory in HIS immediate divine presence. They are making untiring efforts to share this Love of Bhagwan Baba and inspire thousands of people. In this direction, they organized an exhibition on Bhajan singing earlier in the year 2005 called "Sai Nama Kirtana Kaliyuga Sadhana" which was inaugurated by Bhagwan in Brindavan that year. Later the content of the exhibition was brought out in a book form which was highly informative and had subtle technical aspects of Bhajan singing.
With Bhagwan Baba's Grace, the Brindavan Bhajan Group has now brought out a compendium of over 1900 Sai Bhajans. Bhagwan Baba blessed the title of the book as "Brindamrutam" - Truly it is a nectar of bhajan singing.
"Brindamrutam" has several new features like the meaning, Raga, Tala and shruthis mentioned for each of the bhajans. There is separate index mentioning bhajans suitable for Bal Vikas children as well as for Nagarsankeertan. Efforts are also being made to upload these bhajans in the web site.
I sincerely appreciate this great effort in meticulously compiling the bhajans and presenting them for the convenience of the readers. Pray Bhagwan Baba to shower HIS infinite compassion and Grace to the members of the Brindavan Bhajan Group.
Lets also pray Bhagwan Baba to bless the readers & singers of bhajans from this book "Brindamrutam" and may they derive the divine bliss from singing HIS name and experience HIS manifestation within us.
"Manasa Bhajorey Gurucharanam" were the first words of initiation to Namasmarana by our Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, when HE Himself took up on the task of spreading Bhajans in HIS Avataric Mission in 1940 at Uravakonda. This book, "Brindamrutam", is a floral offering at the Lotus Feet of our Master, offered with all Humility and Devotion.
The very thought of bringing out a Bhajanavali a collection of Sai Bhajans was itself a divine initiation. This thought to manifest into action involved sourcing, compilation, classification, formulation and also editing, of close to 2000 Sai Bhajans sung in all the centers of our Country A sincere effort by all the members of the Brindavan Bhajan group ("Bhajana Brinda").
This collection has both old and new Bhajans which were composed and sung by devotees of Bhagawan in Brindavan, Prashanthi Nilayam and other centers. A comprehensive compilation of Bhajans was needed for a devotee aspiring to learn and sing Sai Bhajans. An Attempt has been made to make this book as a Hand book for any aspiring bhajan singer, giving among others, the details of Shruthi (pitch), the closest Raga and also the Tala or the beat of the bhajan. This will serve as a ready reckoner for all singers to sing with more confidence and devotion.
We would like to acknowledge the contribution of all those who have assisted in the compilation of this book.
