There comes a time in every soul's journey when the weight of past experiences struggles, and unanswered questions no longer serve their purpose. I have walked through such a time a path shaped by trials, joys, confusions, and profound awakenings. This book is not merely a recollection of events from my life; it is a testament to the inner transformation that has unfolded through grace, guidance, and unwavering faith.
I was born into ordinary circumstances, as many are, with dreams, fears, and desires like anyone else. My path was filled with both beauty and hardship moments of elation, followed by periods of despair. Yet, with each experience, I found myself being refined, like gold purified by fire. Every lesson, however painful, was a steppingstone toward greater awareness.
The turning point came when I came under the spiritual guidance of my master, Avatar Meher Baba a presence so compassionate, so vast, that words fall short in describing the depth of his love. He taught me that true strength lies in surrender, that joy and suffering are but reflections of our own mind, and that the soul's purpose transcends worldly attachments.
Through his silent yet powerful influence, I learned to listen to the whispers of the heart, to recognize the ego's illusions, and to embrace the profound stillness within. He showed me that spirituality is not an escape but a way of living with clarity, compassion, and courage.
One day, when I was in Meherabad, I had a lightening flash of my past life. I had lived it with Meher Baba in Meherabad as Dr Vinayak Nilkanth Godse (Nilu) as a close disciple of Baba. I was one of his devoted disciples who, as a doctor by profession, played a vital role in taking care of the health of men and women at Meherabad Ashram. I recalled working on many of Meher Baba's projects, following His instructions and tried to live life according to standards set by Him.
I recalled dying in an automobile accident on 2nd December 1956 travelling with Avatar Meher Baba from Pune to Satara along with some other disciples. Recalling my death experience and connecting it to my reincarnation as Vidya is an experience that was both very profound and difficult at the same time. My faith and my devotion to Baba was at test against the mental storms of logic and proofs.
After this past life memory, Beloved Meher Baba opened all the chapters of life, death, soul's journey and many things that were beyond my imagination. He finally made it clear to me the purpose of this past life recall and walked me the path. A biographical account of Nilu's lifetime is given in Appendix B at the end of this book.
I went through series of experiences to resurrect my devotion to Baba and to progress on the spiritual growth, which is always Beloved Meher Baba's goal for everyone.
This book is an offering to those who seek meaning beyond the material, to those who are weary of wandering without direction, and to those who are ready to take the first step into inner awakening. It is a story of how life's uncertainties became a sacred path, and how, with trust and perseverance, one can align with the divine will.
This is a reincarnation story and memories connected to the previous life, particularly the role of Avatar Meher Baba in both lifetimes. May my journey serve as a beacon for others. May these pages inspire you to walk your own path with patience, love, and unwavering faith. And above all, may the grace of the Master guide you to the light that dwells within.
