Education plays an important role in accelerating the pace of the development of the country and an important indicator for human resource development. It is a pre requisite for the human capital formation and it in turn affects the status of the economic development. The teachers are the back bone of the entire system of education. Recognizing their significant role in the system, Teachers Day is being celebrated as a mark of respect on the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an eminent Educationist, Philosopher, Recipient of Bharata Ratna and also the first President of India. Recognizing the role of educators in sustainability of the communities and the Nation as whole, Govt of India chosen the theme of Empowering Educators, strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability for celebration of the Teachers Day in 2024.
The Sri Venkateswara University Retired Teachers Welfare Association (SVURTWA) regularly celebrating the teacher's day and honors the retired teachers. As part of the celebration, the SVURTWA chosen the theme Empowering the Educators and Sustainability of the Society for organizing the seminar.
During the seminar, a number of papers and oral presentations have been made. Of them, a few papers have been chosen for the present volume. The papers were chosen keeping in view of their relevance and also to highlight their value in the development. The papers on Educators as change agents for transformation, Empowering the teachers for building resilience and coherent sustainability, Community empowerment, Empowerment by the educators, Role of educators in Economic Development, Sociological Perspectives and Political Development and a paper on Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's Philosophy were considered. A paper on Women Entrepreneurs and Workforce Diversity was also incorporated to high light their role in the economic development of the country. The current book is an eye opener for the researchers and the teacher trainers to incorporate the new ideas in the future training programmes and bring changes in the current policies. The editors are thankful to the S, V, University authorities and the Executive committee of SVURTWA for facilitating in organizing the seminar and to bring out the book.
