About the Author
Sreekumari Ramachandran is a bilingual writer residing in Kochi. She has authored forty books, including short stories, novels and biographies. Her English translation of the iconic Malayalam work Aithihyamaala earned her international recognition as a translator. Her recent translation, Himalayan Odyssey, introduces English readers to the Malayalam travelogue Haimavatabhuvil by the late M.P. Veerendrakumar.
Among her works, Tales of Malabar (English) and Mall Muthal Marinedrive Vare (Malayalam) have achieved bestseller status. Her latest publication, the historical novel Shakthan Thampuran-The Lion of Kochi, has also joined the ranks of her bestsellers.
She has received several awards, including the prestigious Dr Suvarna Nalapat Award and the Dr C.P. Menon Award for her English translation of Aithihyamaala.
