Book Description
About the Book

Today life is full of complex demands. Individuals have to respond local as well as global needs. So the person is always under stress and strain. The person is emotionally disturbed and unable to take decision in conflicting situation. The study is intended to throw some light in understanding the dynamics of emotional impact. The indigenous concepts of Gita Philosophy play an important role in management and control of emotions. This is an experimental study, where effects of Gita Philosophy (Independent variable) are verified on emotions induced in experimental situation.

For making the operationalism of the philosophical concepts of Gita presented in Persuasive Commnications more effective, Project Associate Dr. Shailja Bhagwat developed special method to associate and induced psychological need with persuasive logic of Gita.

The effects of Gita Philosophy persuasive communication being judged from the base line provided by a control group, the results are scientifically valid. It is also verified that the impact of operationalism of Gita Philisophy increases when some psychological need is induced to motivate the person. The psycho-philosophical study is helpful to know how to manage and control emotions and resist the disturbing forces.

Gita is advised of Krishna when Arjuna was depressed. The application of Gita through relevant communication is useful to know how one can control inhibitory forces of emotional disturbance. The illustrated examples based on Philosophical Principles provide guidelines in the management of emotions with reference to Indian context and culture. It is focused on the persons who are born and nurtured in Indian set-up.

The experimentally induced stress, emotions and communications based on principles of Gita with its application in practical life are useful to understand and evaluate different dynamics of stress and emotions.
