Itihas with Halfyearly Research Journal, had been being published by this department for the last 37 years. Itihas is to inspire and motivate and highlight the quality of the articles and also comprises the specific sets of articles. The main objective of this research journal is to provide ready references to the academicians, historians and researchers for promoting original and systematic research in History. So far 34 volumes have been brought out since 1973.

This volume is a reprint of the Itihas volume-V part-2 has been exhausted and also a persistent demand from the Research Scholars and Historians. The Department is decided to reprint all the exhausted volumes of Itihas in a phased manner. This volume is in the series of reprint of Itihas undertaken by the department.

The Scholars and historians (readers) ought remember that this being a mere reprint, no efforts has been made to contradict of correct the ideas and views expressed in the articles by the various writers.
