Janakiharana is a major Mahākāvya among the Sanskrit Mahākāvyas. A full text of this consisting of 20 Cantos is edited by Sri Paranavitana and Godakumbura-Srilanka as long back as 1966.
This important Mahākāvya has not been in circulation or studied as a text book in schools and college for want of its availability.
Hence Vidyadhisha Postgraduate Sanskrit Research Center is now publishing this valuable work. In addition to the text a detailed study of this work is also included in the next volume. It is hoped that this same work will be studied by the research students and scholars. I express my thanks to Vidwan Krishna Prasad G. for editing this volume.
