Vedanta is one of the 6 systems of Indian Philosophy. It believes in one ultimate reality called Brahman. About the other reality ‘World’, it says it is Maya, an illusion like one sees a serpent in what is actually just a coiled rope. Every thing is Brahman and therefore divine. We do not feel it because of Avidya (Ignorance) or Maya (illusion). A dream appears to be real so long as we are not awake. The same is the case with the world around which appears to be real. As long as that is the case, Brahma Saksatkara (realization) does not happen.
