After doing M.A, conducted research and survey work relating to the folk and tribal art in the eastern region, and began contributing articles in Desh, Modern Review and other national dailies and periodicals. Besides participating in radio and television programmes, also lectured on aspects of Indian art at various forums including certain universities in India and abroad. Undertook a Fellowship study on the Western Impact on Indian Art on a selective basis. Publications include monographs on Jamini Roy and Binode Behari Mukherjee and Indian Artifacts.
