Preface

Since the publication of the first edition, many friends have assured me, that they have derived a great benefit from the use of the book. It is, therefore, a matter of gratification to me to know that the book has to some extent served the purpose for which it was meant In the second edition much greater importance has been given to the practical portion, so that the book can now be regarded as a practical guide to the solution of mental troubles, from which a large number of persons suffer and keep on suffering from day to day, for want of adequate knowledge. As it was pointed out in the first edition "these disorders affect a large number of persons in modern times, bringing in their train inefficiency, misery and unhappiness and making the daily business of living a highly painful affair" The author hopes, that this edition will be found much more useful than the previous one. He would feel grateful, if some of the readers send their valuable suggestions and opinions. They would be kept in mind and availed of, if the need for bringing out another edition is ever felt again.

About The Book

"WE have become conscious of the importance of bodily health, but only a small number of people realise, that the health of mind is as important as that of the body. If the body is not properly exercised, and scientifically fed, it deteriorates,. but even a perfectly developed body is use-less, unless it is directed by a well balanced and capable mind. In the stress of modern civilization, lack of mental health may mean unhappiness, failure, misery and even insanity in a large number of cases.. In the presence of such big stakes, we cannot afford to remain ignorant of the laws of the functioning of our mind, unless of course we want to follow the suicidal policy of self-immolation."
