It is beyond human capacity to speak of or write about the attributes of Almighty God. Not only human beings but also the divine power in the sky are amazed at his Omnipotence and enormous prudence. The arrangement of His grandeur us court is so expansive that none can raise a finger of doubt at it. None but Almighty God Himself can unravel His secrets. European philosophers and thorough scholars of occult sciences whose advancement in the sphere of knowledge and had influenced the environs of Egypt and Greece on one hand and Iran and India on the other left, no stone unturned to unfold the mystery of marvels of His might vested in the formation of strata of the earth and the shape and layers of the skies. The fleeting realities of passing through our eyes and the sight of whose mechanism and changes taking place every now and then makes us exclaim with wonder that nothing is permanent here. The world has produced, is producing and will produce hordes of great philosophers and scientists. From the earth they come into existence and the day will come when they will again become part of the earth. A glance at the bygone ages reveals that there have been such wise and talented people who devoted utmost efforts to delve into his omnipotence. We deeply owe to them for the existing variety of knowledge and skills that once dwindled due to vicissitudes of fortune and came in vogue once again. Now, everyone through his observation is trying to broaden the horizon of such knowledge and skill in accordance with his own bent of mind.
There was a time when the Sun of knowledge and wealth was at its zenith. It attracted seekers of knowledge even from other lands who benefited from the knowledge gained from the Indian thinkers and scholars. Now, Indian themselves have, unfortunately are averted to their indigenous sciences and arts. That is why the light of knowledge is overshadowed by darkness. A little thought over this situation will reveal that the oriental sciences shunned by us as worthless were indeed jewel carbuncles whose admirers and scrutinizers are very rare. Consequently, due to vicissitudes of time these sciences have entirely extinguished from this land.
In earlier times, India was considered to be the precursor of marvels of science, arts and important skills. Then, America and other countries looked at this land in high esteem. Now when foreign lands have been illuminated with the light of development of knowledge and science, India contrarily has become wrapped in darkness of ignorance and regression. We are amazed to take stock of contributions made by our saints and sages to the fields of science and philosophy. We will surely exclaim in wonder that at a time when the garden of sacred classical knowledge was parching up in the eyes of our present generation, it is about to bear sweet fruits by becoming freshened up through wonderful European inventions. The time is not far when India will regain its glory and honour and will the epithet of 'the mark of the paradise' will be restored to it for, there is no art science that is untouched by the intellectuals in the Aryvrat (India) to take them to the zenith. Unfortunately, all such achievements are lying in oblivion due to our own indifference and callousness.
The world has witnessed an era when brilliances of Indian science and philosophy started moving westward to the celestial bodies through Iran and Syria. It was through Iranians that Greece got bedecked with the crown of knowledge and wisdom. Its good fortune made it flourish for centuries from where it travelled to Rome and France. Later, whatever progress India made with the wealth of this light is crystal clear. In Arabia, most of Sanskrit writings were translated into Arabic during the reign of Abbasid rulers. The Arabs benefited from Indian mathematicians and named the knowledge thus obtained as 'handasah'.
The era in which Sri Ramchand conquered Lanka leading to defeat of Ravana and his companions the rule was handed over to Lanka Bhikshu. Consequently, his rivals fled to and settled down in Arabia. Thus the science they brought with them spread in the entire Arab land. Its brilliance crossed over to Egypt when Garg Rishi was appointed emissary to Egypt. It is the same period when Khadev, the Egyptian ruler under Ottoman caliphate received instruction in astrology, a branch of mathematics, from Claudius Ptolemy, a Greek philosopher (100-170 A.D.). This knowledge amazingly influenced a number of foreign lands.
