The International School of Dravidian Linguistics (ISDL) used to organize Seminars, Symposia and Workshops on various topics concerning Indian languages in general and Dravidian in particular. This institution gives utmost importance to our traditional wisdom and hence research projects are taken up on Indian grammatical tradition, morphological characteristics of Indian languages, linguistic features of folklore and riddles etc. At the same time care is taken to give due importance to the new trends in the field of linguistics both theoretical and applicational. Due to persistent requests from scholars, we have decided to publish selected papers from those presented at ISDL forums. The present publication Papers in Linguistics Vol. II, just like Vol. I, is a collection of ISDL Seminar / Conference / Workshop papers. This volume comprises articles of Senior Professors and also of young researchers.
The Papers in Linguistics Vol. II comprises articles on different subjects such as grammar, literary tradition, language in relation to cultural traditions, lexicography, forensic linguistics etc. I am fully confident that this volume, as usual, will be received enthusiastically by all sections of the academic community such as scholars, researchers and students not only from the discipline of linguistics but also from other related fields. In this context, on behalf of ISDL I express my sincere thanks for the continuous encouragement and support extended to us by the academic community from India and abroad.
