Considering the importance of immunity boosting measures and general health promotion of masses in the unforeseen outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, lead was taken at the highest levels and this Ayush Kvätha Curea /Ayush Kuținir Cüraṇam/ Ayush Safüf-1-Joshanda has been launched. The unique formulation could even be prepared by anybody at home as it is made with household ingredients of day-to-day use. Moreover, a de-novo dosage form has also been framed so as to ensure extemporaneous preparation of the medicine in a consumer-friendly manner. Further, the Formularies of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani Systems of Medicine have also been construed to introduce this formulation to ascertain its propagation with uniform nomenclature instead of prevalent practice of proprietorship in such cases.
I feel immense pleasure to see materialization of such paradigm shift in policy of AYUSH besides conservation and propagation of classical time-tested traditional knowledge, by venturing into this launch. Completing all the tedious but necessary formalities and bringing out its Pharmacopoeial standards in four months was a Herculean task, for which, I applaud the sincere efforts of Dr. D. C. Katoch, Advisor (Ay.) & Director, In-charge, PCIM&H and his entire team; Research Councils involved in Standardization of the product; ASU Pharmacopoela Committees and Scientific Body of PCIM&H.
