Preface
Before proceeding with this readers are requested to go through my first book Pranamamyabam' if they have not already done so, so that they can understand and appreciate this better. Those who have already read my first book are requested not to expect the same stuff bere, for this is more about certain qualities and innate traits of Sri Amma. I have presented certain details which bave been left out in my previous book and also added certain incidents that happened after its publication. In certain places I would have been autobiographical but that couldn't be helped. I have tried my best to give a true account of Sri Amma which my small mind could comprehend and that too within its capabilities. I treat this more as a worship to Sri Amma than any account of Hers and with all the efforts I have put in I feel that I have not done full justice. No, it cannot be done.
Foreword
I have been fortunate to be asked to write a Foreword for this Book PRANAMAMYAHAM. Volume 4 by Sri R.L. Narayanan. The author has to his credit the first volume with the same title. Due to the inspiration derived from his work, two other volumes have been written/compiled by other devotees of Poojya Shri Mathioli Saraswathi. The author, in his preface to this book has stated that he has tried his best to give a true account of Sri. Amma which his small mind could comprehend. He also feels that he has not done full justice earlier and therefore he is venturing upon writing the present volume. Had I been asked to write a foreword to any other book it would not have been as difficult as the present one, because the book itself is about an Avatar, a divine personality -Poojya Shri Mathioli Saraswathi who is lovingly called by her devotees as AKKA and AMMA. While writing about an avathar intellect and educational attainments fail and Bakthi alone triumphs. Only a person with an association of more than 5 decades with the holy subject of this book like Sri. Narayanan can undertake and accomplish the task of writing volume after volume on Shri Amma. Sri Narayanan has unflinching loyalty and devotion towards Shri Amma which makes him mention that in certain places he could not avoid being autobiographical. From this book it is clear that Sri Narayanan used to see Sri Amma almost every day for nearly 45 years before he went to his work spot viz the school.
I came into the Nandalala family only 10 years ago and during this short period itself I have come to know that hundreds of families all over the world are at her feet expecting grace and guidance for any activity whether big or small. In the families of her devotees, even several marriages have been conducted as per the instructions and guidance of Shri Amma in all matters including selection of life partners.
Normally Sri Amma does not profess verbally that she is divine. When the author asked her once,
"You are a swami (God) I suppose", She seems to have replied.
"You think of me in whatever way you like"
Are we not reminded of the utterance of Sri Krishna in the Geetha.
