The work of the Theosophical Society can be organized efficiently only when the large majority of its members scattered throughout the world understand clearly the aims of the Society and the general principles which should guide them in planning and carrying out this work. There is need of a book which sets forth these aims and general principles in a clear and concise manner.
The author has made an attempt in these pages to supply this need. How far he has succeeded in this task is for the reader to decide. Some of the remarks made in this book apply particularly to conditions obtaining in India but the greater part of what is said will be found to be of general application.
