Preface

This publication contains a historical Drama on the life Raghunatha Nayaka, the most illustrious Nayak Ruler of Tanjore by his Minister Yejnanarayana Dikshita famous for his poetic gifts. The diction of the Drama is dignified, and contains a good description of the various activities of the King and the various parts of the spacious ant beautiful palace of the Nayak Rulers. It is a permanent addition to Sanskrit Literature and souvenir of Tanjore History.

The work has been ably edited with Sanskrit version for all the Sanskrit passages and an introduction by our Sanskrit Pandit, Sri K. V. Venkatasubramanya Sastri Vedanta Siromani, Vedanta Visarada and our thanks an due to him for the valuable services.

We are grateful to the Government of Indian Union for their timely grant that has enabled us. We publish this and other valuable manuscripts of the Library.
