Book Description
About the Book
From the comforting warmth of a freshly cooked chapati, perfect for scooping up rich curries, to the tantalizing aroma of a crispy, golden bhakri - the roti, in its various forms, is the cornerstone of Indian meals.

About the Author
Anuradha Ravindranath was born and brought up in Delhi. She inherited her interest in cooking from her late father, Ranjit Rai, who authored Curry Curry Curry (Penguin, 1989). This led her to write and publish Tandoor, the Great Indian Barbecue (Penguin, 1996) under his name, after his passing. Her book The Rice Cookbook - 101 simple recipes (Penguin, 2009) won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award for the best single subject cookbook from India. Anuradha enjoys sharing her love for cooking with enthusiasts of all ages. She has conducted cooking classes for children aged 8 to 12 years for more than 10 years, from 1995 to 2005. She has developed a concept she calls "Survival Cooking" especially for young adults planning to leave home. Her other programmes include workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on experience for international groups with an interest in Indian cuisine; customized visits to local spice, fruit, and vegetable markets; workshops on "De-Stress through cooking"; and cookery demonstrations for schools, colleges and for cultural activities. Anuradha's other lifelong passion has been an enthusiasm and appreciation of pottery.
