As a student, you may recall that grammar is the hardest and most tedious part of language learning. In order to make Bhojpuri grammar learning easy and accessible, I have used my own long pedagogical experience and background. To facilitate learning Bhojpuri and understanding its grammatical rules, each lesson is made up of struc tures, vocabulary and situational conversations that gives practice in using vocabulary in real life situations. It is learner-friendly as well as gives pleasure in the discovery of new words and phrases.
Originally, I had considered including Bhojpuri grammar in my book भोजपुरी बोलऽ Bhojpuri Bola-Speak Bhojpuri, but after consultation with friends and following my own teaching experience and intuition, I have worked out a simple grammar book that is attrac-tive, appealing and to which you can go to at any time and at leisure.

I have given the different parts of grammar in Bhojpuri and the equivalent terms or parts of speech in English to make it easily understood and assimilated. Differences in approaches such as the use of postpositions in Bhojpuri and prepositions in English have been high-lighted with adequate examples to draw the point home. Moreover, I have used both Devanagri and Roman scripts throughout so that even if you are not acquainted with Devanagri you will still have access to Bhojpuri. In addition, I have given word for word translation in English side by side.
