It is a homecoming for me as I have been on a spiritual journey for more than 30 years. When I started the journey, I was full of questions and was curious to dig into every aspect of life. I did not know what to follow and what I was seeking. The only thing that kept me going was my quest to learn. I was drawn towards various practices, and that gave me tremendous happiness and peace at that point.

All of us have a yearning to know the source. We are aware of millions of gods and spirit forms. We ask ourselves: Whom should I follow? Also, the question that is always on our minds while on our spiritual journey is: What should I do to be spiritual? Those who are on the path of spirituality have questions like, 'Am I doing the right thing?' 'Am I growing spiritually?'

Like everyone else, I was also in search of guidance. I met several gurus. I started with the belief that there can be only one guru in life. But, now I have reached the point where I believe that every guru has his or her part and role to play.

My journey involved research and a deep understanding of every aspect of human life. I believe in delving deep into every subject to know as much as possible. Also, I internalised the concepts and practised them. When I learnt about life beyond the human body and the energy body around the physical body, it was a revelation. Then, I studied the chakras and energy bodies. I researched how the energy body, chakras, and our mind contribute to the diseases and disorders we experience. I wrote my first book Heal Yourself With Meditation. At the same time, I conducted certification courses in various modalities to heal myself and others. I began healing people around me.

However, I was not satisfied with healing as it was not permanent. Disorders recurred. So, I wanted to understand other aspects as well.

Later, I was exposed to the possibilities of DNA change that might heal us with more permanency. I researched DNA and quantum physics. I considered this my PhD topic and wrote my second book, Change Your DNA For Positive Transformation, which elaborates DNA programming to change our lives. The DNA transformation technique is effective and deep and helps us in every aspect.

The journey is not yet over. The question 'What is truth?' is still unclear. I have journeyed with gurus from near and far and learned from them all. But my hunger to know the ultimate truth was not fulfilled. I am obliged to every guru I followed as they helped me attain self-realisation. Every one of them helped me recognise the guidance that comes from within. Now, I am at a stage where I am driven by inner guidance.

We have been hearing this for ages. We also sing the songs and chant Shivohum. Many spiritual gurus say that the chanting of Shivohum improves our focus and concentration and calms our minds. Ultimately, we achieve these as our consciousness changes by chanting Shivohum.

It is not easy to understand the true sense of Shivohum, which means 'I am Shiva' or 'We have Shiva inside ourselves.

By chanting Shivohum, we invoke the energy of supreme consciousness. Through this invoking, our consciousness changes and we get more serene and calmer. We receive the protection and blessings and get clarity in our thinking. This is the greatest and easiest way I find a shift in my state of being too positive from any heavier state.

Shiva is Spirit (Purusha)
The description of Shiva as the spirit has been considered from the Sanskrit scripture 'Siva Samhita.

The only truth in the universe is the existence of the Universal Spirit. He is the one 'Satchidananda, which means existence, intelligence or consciousness and bliss. Everything else in the universe is made up of the five states of matter.

Since it is not illuminated by another, it is self-luminous; and because of self-luminosity, the true nature of the spirit is light. We can visualise the spirit as a source of light.

Since the spirit in its nature is not limited by time or space, it is, therefore, infinite, all-pervading, and an entirety in itself.

All elements in the universe will perish with time. But the indescribable spirit will exist.

Neither ether, air, fire, water, earth, nor their combinations, nor the devas are perfect except for the spirit. The spirit is the only one that is perfect.

Shiva is Spirit and Shakthi is Nature
Shiva and Shakthi are always represented as Purusha and Prakruthi. This means Shiva is the spirit, and Shakthi is the matter, the physical existence. That is the reason why Shiva and Shakthi are always together and are represented as Ardhanareswara.

It is hard to understand and internalise the concept of spirit and nature. Everyone understands it differently according to their level of consciousness. I am trying to simplify the concept according to my understanding. As we go deep into each chapter, your own experience would lead you to understand the concept better.

Through the stories, we witness one more concept-the presence of the spirit in every being. Several stories are about beings who were born out of Lord Shiva. They are called 'Shivansh, which means parts of Shiva. It is interesting to see that those Shivansh beings are versatile-humans, snakes, demons, water beings, and others. This just shows that the spirit is in every being. The spirit is universal and can be part of any being.

The spirit is non-existent but nature is the physical existence. However, nature or physical existence does not exist in the absence of the spirit. The spirit is inside every physical existence in nature. Similarly, humans, as physical beings, hold the spirit as Atma inside them. The true goal of our being is to ultimately merge our individual spirit, which is the soul with the universal spirit. But the journey is long and iterative. In the current state, we are not even aware of our own spirit which is our soul. Through this book, we learn to connect with our own self and also with our soul. As we read earlier, this is a path to Self Awakening.
