Shakti Fair and Fierce aims to highlight the remarkable achievements of women artists from India. "Shakti" indeed transcends a mere definition; it embodies the essence of power, strength, and dynamism inherent in every woman's narrative. As a concept associated with the dynamic and creative facets of the universe, it ties together qualities like strength, resilience, creativity, and empowerment. In the realm of art showcased in this exhibition, it becomes a guiding force, inspiring artists to utilize their creativity as a powerful tool for expression and instigating positive social change, whether through strokes of a paintbrush, intricacies of sculpture, or the weaving of tapestry. The journey of discovery through diverse perspectives, themes, and techniques showcases the rich tapestry of creativity by women artists. My heartfelt gratitude to Mr Martin Gurvich, Founder and Director, Museum of Sacred Art, Belgium who has supported this exhibition and amplified the voices of women artists from India and honoured their invaluable contributions to the world of art. I also extend special thanks to the Curatorial Advisor Ms. Sushma Bhal, whose inputs are invaluable as it provides essential insights into the contribution of women artists and its significance. The exhibition effectively captures the depth of these contributions, enriching the overall experience and enhancing the exhibitions impact and relevance.
