This monograph tries to view in perspective the development of Marathi stage music till about 1980.
I am grateful to Shri Bhalchandra Pendharkar of Lalitkaladarsh for allowing use of his photo-graphic material. Shri Arun Naik's professional eye processed the manuscript.

While pursuing the theme, I realized that many combinations of music and drama are pos-sible and Marathi stage music proves a unique chemistry!
