Foreword The unremarkable mid-sized oval wooden table that used to occupy the center of the room was gone. That was the first thing I noticed walking into the room I had occupied for many years at the Wipro Corporate Office. This was in early 2016. With increasing alarm, I checked for its whereabouts. No one seemed to know. The best guess seemed to be that it had been disposed of as scrap, so must have been cut up for reuse.

The table was unremarkable only in form. It was a bearer of Wipro's history and legacy. It was the table used for all Wipro board meetings, as far back as anyone could remember, while the company was headquartered in Bombay. It had been moved to Bangalore when the headquarters shifted.
